Prima vera band nasce nel 1993 quando Ivan si unisce a Davide Demartis (chitarra), Gianni Monti (chitarra), Dario Alessandri (basso) e Riccardo Collu (batteria). Con i Violent Preach (così il loro ultimo nome) ha avuto modo di esibirsi in tutto il nord Sardegna. Alghero, Calangianus, Olbia ed Olmedo le tappe più importanti. Nel 1994 per motivi di studio si traserisce a Pisa ed abbandona con discipacere la band. Nella città toscana abbozza qualche session con artisti locali ma nel periodo andava tanto il grunge e quindi preferì continuare da solo con la sua chitarra. Durante questo periodo nascono alcune canzoni (prevalemtemente ballate) alcune delle quali vengono riprodotte anche ora con la sua attuale band dal nome Myricae (titolo di una canzone che Ivan scrisse nel 1994 con i Violent Preach. Alla fine del 2006 si unisce alla creatura sopra citata che andava prendendo forma dalla mente di Manuel Morittu attuale compositore e chitarrista dei Myricae.
