Dave was born on January 2nd, 1984 in the small city of Guelph, Ontario. At the age of 10, his parents bought him his first instrument, an electric guitar. With love of music, and full of ambitions, Dave played live with his first band in the 6th grade. During the summer after grade 8, Dave joined an already established local band when their lead guitarist went on hiatus. The band, being successful with large battle of the bands competitions, won studio time and recorded a full length album. During the recording of their first album, the band recruited a DJ to do scratching and effects. Spending time after the recording with DJ Stillshot, Dave had found his true passion. Armed with an already established DJ, Dave started learning the ropes. In the summer of 99’, Dave put down his guitar for a set of turntables. Gaining much admiration for artists like Capital J, Mystical Influence and Tech Itch, the path of jungle was chosen. In the following years Dave, alongside Jared ( www.myspace.com/djhornick ) and Trevor ( www.myspace.com/bioskull ), would establish Dark Selecta which originally served as a release platform. This has more or less turned into an alias for DJ syn. In 2002, with a computer and some studio programs, dj syn started writting and producing in his bedroom. He has enjoyed successes spinning mostly around Guelph and Kitchener Ontario, at local parties and gaining notoriety for spinning really hard drum n bass. In the summer of 2006 Dave, made his first big break DJing at the World Electronic Music Festival. Currently, Dave is spending almost all of his time writing his own dnb and jungle and building towards his own releases.....
