About Me

UPDATED 11/14
This site is for the Joshua Moorhead's work. For the artist himself, go here .
------------------------------
It's been a whirlwind the last couple of weeks. Just when I finish a piece, I have an idea for two more. And they keep getting more complicated. This whole ordeal should prove fairly interesting, to say the least.
A few notes about my work:
My work is expressionistic, but very structured. Experimantation has expanded my creativity lately. I still use mainly acrylics, but I also use some spraypaints and special textured finishes. As Salvador Dali has always been an inspiration to me, a touch of surrealism may peek into my work at times. Or maybe I'm a big liar. There's only one way to find out. I still use masking for hard lines and defined shapes, but soon I will try and experiment with other possibilities of this technique. I very soon may explore the third dimension with a few ideas, both painting and sculpture.
Here's the running tab of what going on these days:
The Heart Phase: The realization of the internal issue. This is done for now. The Club Phase: The battle to right the things that we can, and to give in and accept help with things we can't. The Diamond Phase: Living after the fighting, and preparing for insurgency along the way. The Spade Phase: The inevitability of mortality.
Overall it seems a bit lofty, and I don't intend to rigidly stick to it. I certainly will proceed in this way, though, and do my best to make what messages and beauty that I can.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who doesn't think I'm a pompous artsy-fartsy waste of space for what I just wrote. :D

I'm really very light-hearted, but hey, I'm a sucker for symbolism, and conceptual abstractions are the way to go for that. ;)
