About Me

Cory Hernandez aka (PROLIIFERATION) aka (DJ Prolif) was born and raised in Orlando. First in the slums of the Downtown Orlando district then in the mean streets of Park Manor. Prolif,as his friends had called him had always love the sound of the Darker side of music. Growing up I had always liked the sound of Industrial music. NIN and KMFDM production style had a major influence in my love for ELECTRO music. Although they were bands their sound had a very Electronic feel. When I first herd the “Pretty Hate Machine” album by NIN I thought, this new sound is ahead of its time. Even by todays standards some of those songs can still keep up with todays Electronic music when it was made in 1989. Thats how my quest started with Electronic music. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----Skip forward about 5yrs and “Vegas” by The Crystal Method comes out. Now here is a Album that had a major influence on Electronic music period. After the release of “Vegas” the flood gates of Electronic Music was open and out of it came the bastard child of Electronic music…..ELECTRO. I would have to say that Kraftwerk,Dynamix II,and African Bambatta were on the front line of ELECTRO music. Through their advancements in Electro and Miami Bass, kids like me had a sound to destroy all others. Now the year is 1997 and I learn about Underground Raves and Dance Festivals. Out of all the Electronic groups and DJs in the world, only a few could pull me in to their sound. If ELECTRO is the Bastard child of Electronic music, then Jackal & Hyde are the Bastard children. These guys r true ELECTRO artist, their production style of ELECTRO CORE music has a very Industrial feel which is probably why I became an Instant fan. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----As I became a Dj it seemed to me that Electro was the style that was best suited for me. Florida at that time was know for its Funky Breaks scene. Such artist like DJ Icey , Baby Anne , and Rick West were the Sound of Florida. Now as we look ever closer to the future of music, Electro Breaks has come to be the Sound of Florida. Artist like EXZAKT,HYDRAULIX,A.T.F.and Ghost in the Machine to name a few, have shaped a new wave of ELECTRO music. As this ever evolving sound heads towards the future I can only hope that future ELECTRO artist stay tru to the the sound. Like I’ve said before “We are ELECTRO,Without Machines we our Nothing”. So get ready to PLEDGE YOUR ALLIGANCE TO ELECTRO FUNK because when the Robots decide to take over, What kind of music do u think their going to listen to…Rock and Roll.
