i like fancy paper, photographs of run-down cabins and old neon signs, traveling, buying shoes, and i like microbrews a lot. yoga makes my life sweet. chocolate is sent from the gods. coffee and hot springs, ghost towns and ruins. i like blue jeans and sitting in the grass with my shoes off. vintage band t-shirts and opals. i like to utilize the postal service. i'm learning to make peace with myself so i can make peace in this crazy world.

I'd love to meet my parents, circa 1975. And I'd like to meet my doppelganger.

Music:

zap mama, thievery corporation, dylan, ani and utah, edgar meyer, billie holiday, Broke Down! clawhammer banjos. I love the sound of john hartford's feet tapping on the floor. I love to listen to my brother get in-your-face on the mandolin. I love to sing with my parents and clay and just about anybody who will let me. my homeboys pierce and patrick on the banjo. townes van zandt, dwight yoakam, vassar clements, michael jackson, sly and the family stone, ray charles, renee fleming, prince, open road bluegrass band, ocms, larry keel, lucinda williams, fugees, ladysmith black mambazo, jurassic 5, ben harper, belle & sebastian, amadou & mariam. i am particularly fond of the good times and sanford and son theme songs.

Movies:

harold and maude, scared sacred, bluegrass country soul, baraka, death to smoochy, crash, biographies (like walk the line or frida), la Vita e bella (life is beautiful), kill bill (especially the second one)

Television:

i pity the fool, lost, sanford and son, the daily show, no reservations, csi, scrubs, good times, m*a*s*h*

Books:

autobiography of a blue-eyed devil, yoga from the inside out, even cowgirls get the blues, prodigal summer, peace is every step, cunt, travel guides, lady sings the blues, the illuminated rumi, eat pray love, dharma in hell, and i love magazines (adbusters, relix, yoga journal, orion)
