Mike Barnhill

Born in Missouri, Americas Heartland, home to country music, classic rock and rusty cars. Transplanted to Portland Oregon, one of the country's greatest live rock scenes and home to some of the best indie music to ever surface. Fled to Miami home to imposters and palm trees, dance music, hip hop and such things. The influence of the first two locations is probably obvious. The latter a bit more subtle, pehabs boiling just below the surface, heard more as a rebellion to than a part of.
I've been writing songs again. Lots of songs. I've been very busy playing in a very loud and awesome band called Self Run Will (see below). Other than that, I am Mike Barnhill and I live in Miami Florida and go to the beach a lot and used to be very very sad a lot, but lately not so much. Still a bit angry and entitled however, which can also be problematic. I used to watch fight club every day, and lived it for a spell. I think I'm getting old, so we have that in common you and I.
There is an album in the works as we speak. Narrowing down about 30 possible songs down to 8 or so for some sort of debut. As the songs up here are nice and all. The were recorded more out of fear of not remembering them than an attempt to showcase to the world.
We recorded the song 27 on accident whilst working on a track for the upcoming Self Run Will Album. Please give it a listen when you have a chance. Its charming and nice.
