Influences: anybody that i ever listened to that i liked! reggie young has always been a huge influence on me. I liked all these great songs over the years and later found out reggie had played on all of them. He was an influence that I wasn't aware of until years later. Brent Mason is another player that I am influenced by simply because he is the best. He has it all. Stuart Duncan has been a hero of mine since I met him as a teenager and was given a fiddle lesson by him. I grew up in West Texas near South Plains College and he went to school there for a while. He was very gracious in helping me out. He plays fiddle with so much soul. Jerry Douglas has been a big influence especially the way he plays behind a vocal. None better at it. Merle Haggard is my all time favorite singer along with Vern Gosdin,Gene Watson,George Strait and Gary Stewart. Redd Volkaert is another player that i admire. He sort of is all my favorite players wrapped into one. Plays honky tonk guitar the way it should be played. There are hundreds of others but this is the core of it all.
