I work in sound, mostly for film. I studied production and post-production sound at the Academy Of Art University in San Francisco, under Steve Romanko and David Westby .
I believe a sound design is far more than simply hearing what you see. Sound should provide depth not only to the human characters in a film, but to those other seemingly insignificant items that propel a story forward. If the focus within a scene is on an ashtry, the sound should force the viewer to pay close attention to that ashtray--it has meaning, it has purpose, it is in itself, a character. Too many times have I witnessed a scene where something important was taking place and the sound designer did not focus properly on the actions.
I have been working on sound for going on five years now (as of August 2006). Currently, I'm using ProTools 7 LE with the MBox 2 . This allows me a high degree of mobility--I simply plug my MBox to my computer, open ProTools, and I have an instant, portable sound recorder.
Currenty I am a bit too busy to work on a website, but I do have some of my works available online for your viewing pleasure:
No Bullshido is a film I worked on for the 48-Hour Film Project in San Francisco. A good example of my style when it comes to sound design.
I have a couple of videos on my Myspace page, just click "videos" under my profile picture. I rotate them from time to time, always trying to get some new stuff up there.
If you are at my Myspace page for possible work, feel free to contact me at your convenience. I check it daily.
This was one part of a triplet spec campaign, one of my last in-school projects.
