I've committed myself into slavery for coffee, books and music - of late I'm also working my ass off to keep on studying. Vicious circle: Work butt off to stay at university which eats up too much of the time I'd better use for studying -> gotta study longer -> for which I have to work my ass off in order to pay the fees and bills and...and food. Currently I have two jobs at university and one -rather unpaid- job as the 'English voice' of the LARPzeit Magazin doing a few interviews in the music section and happy to translate away if necessary. LARPzeit is a German magazine specializing in live action role-playing games, medieval culture and fashion.
Btw, I'm student of English Literature and Modern History (just in case you wondered) and chances are high you find me on Campus Nord either in the library near the coffee machine, at the library desk checking out your books (nope, I am not the friendly one. I am the one who kicks your ass if you enter the restricted area, walk right up to you to silence you and deny all responsibility as to the lockers and yes, I hate my fellow students and have prepared the lockers so they don't open properly anymore. Seriously guys, don't fuck with the lady behind the desk). When I don't happen to be at the library check my office or give a loud shout. Good chances someone has just seen me a few minutes before. oh, and bring a coffee if you want me to like you. Coffee helps.
Although I don't play any instruments, I'm desperately in love with music. Metal, Goth Rock, Punk Rock, and Glam Rock, Rock in general. But I listen to all kinds of music as long as it's gooooood.
Since many of my friends are Metal bears who could easily win Lordi-look-alike contests I acquired a kind of taste for that too. Well, okay, okay no sense denying, actually that's where I come from. Like every good role-playing girl I started out with Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Iron Maiden and Subway to Sally ;) ... You're still my heroes!! I have been told recently I'm being in the process of being converted to Black Metal - sorta. Still kicking. Call me fussy but I actually enjoy 'understanding'(acoustically) at least parts of the vocals. Not that I complain overly much when being forced to a night out in the company of my black-metal boyfriend *rolls her eyes* or my death-metal-loving friends *rolls her eyes some more*. Still, it's just pretty unlikely that you'd find much of it when browsing through my cd-'shelf'. At least as yet... . The reprogramming of my mind is in progress, I fear.
What else? Bookie girl that I am, I'm also a sucker for comics, horror movies and playstation games, and have played all kinds of role-playing games in my youth. Uh-huh, guess you could call me a little geeky from time to time. All-time faves are 'Das Schwarze Auge' and 'Shadowrun'.

I love horror fiction and Gothic Literature and I am always looking for new authors, so if you have anything to recommend, feel free!
A second fave genre is Utopian fiction. Orwell, Huxley, Lessing, Wells, Samjatin...
Last but not least one of my major interests lies in the field of Post-Colonial Literature (African + Caribbean Literature in particular but the rest as well). I've been to a PoCo-conference in Spring 2005 at Berlin (Post-Colonial Spring School), spent a whole week with authors, creative people and aspiring writers there. Cool thing!
my childhood heroes: Robin Hood, Wolverine and Lydia
Gambit, Punisher and Spiderman!
There are definitely a lot of inspiring people all over the world I'd pick as examples
my mother who is completely crazy but always did her best to raise us.
Neil Gaiman and Poppy Z. Brite are definitely on the list. They are my gurus as it comes to writing.
