Genuine people below the radar and outside the box, musicians, especially dj's and producers, artists on every level, and anyone else that brings something interesting to the table.
I try to surround myself with good people, quality music, and unlikely teachers.
Oh, and Carmen Sandiego. She was too fast for my Tandy 1000 back in the day.
Drum & Bass, Downtempo (apologies to those Shoutcast stations I shamelessly wore out), Trip Hop, Acid Jazz, Experimental, non-mainstream hip-hop, all sounds tribal and percussion-oriented, and the few rock bands that still innovate (I'm looking at you Muse, Tool, Mars Volta, Radiohead, and Hobex).
And not that you asked, but here's a few more that I'm digging these days: LTJ Bukem, Saul Williams, Amon Tobin, Ninja Tune, Talib Kweli, Blackalicious, Calibre, DRS, MMW, RJD2, DJ Shadow, 311, Bjork, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Sixtoo, Jill Scott, Portishead, Deeizm, Res, Roots, Mos Def, Outkast, James Brown, Norah Jones, DJ Krush, Frank Sinatra, Big Bud, Erykah Badu, and Sigur Ros.
Don't watch many, but I'm working on it. Baraka, The Big Lebowski (one of the funniest movies of all time!!), Lord of the Rings trilogy, anything by Kevin Smith (except for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which was pants), Fight Club, K-Pax.
not really at all....but I can sometimes be tricked into watching comedy central or wrestling. go figure
