Tom and the Hippi Bastards were born in the cold, bleak January of 2008. In the cold, bleak, yet industrially picturesque town of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. Three disparate lost souls dodging their way through life, like Del-Boy playing Dodgeball. Anyway, on one particularly windswept afternoon, their erstwhile and flamboyant drummer, Hippi, had a chance encounter with a handle-bar moustachioed resident of Amsterdam.
"Would you like to buy shum shuper shtrength LSD?" he said.
"Smo!" Said the sticksman.
Eager to get stuck into his purchase, Hippi wandered home in the general direction of Fenton, whereupon he came across two buskers playing the Match of the Day theme outside Home Bargains in Longton precinct.
"That's odd?" He thought to himself. "They're normally playing Hollyoaks."
The guitaring busker was none other than Pat Bastard, the punk stalwart. His bass plucking accomplice was Tom Bath, the chubby mophead. Not being one to miss a trick, Hippi formulated an immediate plan.
"Oi, you two throbbers, i'm not one to miss a trick. Pick up your instruments, follow me to the rehearsal room and we shall trip and make sweet music."
"SOUND!" Came the two pronged response.
And that folks, is exactly what they did. And now they're coming to get you. To infect your eardrums, to shake your bowels, and most importantly to make you sway in time with the music.
