Music:

Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Clan of Xymox, Bauhaus, Adult., Psychedelic Furs, Bloc, Party, Adam Ant, The Faint, Add N to X, Causey Way, Detroit, Sigur Ros, John Foxx, Pilot Scott Tracey, Earth, Large Number, Kraftwerk, DEVO, The Fever, Impaler, The Sound, Red House Painters, Gang of Four, The Cure, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Gary Numan, Japan, Noodhammer, X-Wife, Biting Tongues, Animal Collective, Joy Division, This Mortal Coil, anything on the 4AD and Factory record labels and many, many more...and then on the flip side, any kid of syrupy, sireny, torch songs from the 30s or 40s, Jazz and Traditional Pop classics...with a little Hank Williams Sr. and Johnny Cash thrown in for good measure. By the way, did I mention that I love Peter Murphy? No? Oh, that's because I actually meant Nick Cave. Well, that's not exactly true either. It's because now I love Mark Kozelek. Well, actually, how can a girl really choose?

Movies:

Classics, obscure, new and foreign. Favorite film makers are Herzog, Burton, Gilliam, Maddin, Lupino, Luhrmann, Wilder, Brothers Quay, Svankmajer & Kubrick. I love old 20th Century Fox musicals and just about anything released by Kino. I have a large collection of horror films and children's Christmas movies. (I love Rudolph and Nester the Long Eared Christmas Donkey!) Oh, and I hated both Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.

Television:

home decorating shows (hanging my head in shame) Design on a Dime, Facelift, Painted House, Divine Design, While You Were Out. Other than that...I rarely have the t.v. on, unless it is the middle of the night and I am watching re-runs of Rosanne. I just acquired over 100+ hours of Night Flight on DVD. If you know what NF is, you are cooler than you think.

Books:

biographies. true stories. true lies. chick lit. design history.

Heroes:

Chopper & Mom
