The Origins

Better and more addictive than crack.

About Me

The Origins are a four piece indie rock band based in south-west London. Formed in 2003 as a means of attracting the opposite sex at parties the line-up was quickly shuffled with the realisation that no one was very good. Townsend and Adam remained and new members Dan and Nerdbert were drafted in to complete the group. After two years of struggling to find form, both on and off the stage, things finally began to take shape with their first studio session in October 2005. The subsequent Nine to Five EP quickly sold out and How Very Plato won the Virgin Radio Xtreme unsigned band face-off competition two weeks running to a recorded audience of 85,000 listeners. Half a year later and The Origins have gained further experience with gigs at West One Four in Kensington, The Fez Club in Putney, The Fighting Cocks in Kingston and headlining The Peel in Kingston.
