About Me

<
VisitHistorically harvesting wind energy using a kite or sail is ancient technology and is enjoying high-tech resurgence due to the rising cost of oil and gasoline. Our company Kite For Sail is now introducing the F-10 fuel saving kite - a new compact kite system for vessels up to 40 feet in length. The F-10 generates 10 horsepower under optimal conditions and can reduce fuel consumption. The kite also serves as alternative propulsion encase of engine failure. The team at Kite For Sail has been developing kite systems since 1999. Their focus has been on creating safe reliable performance systems that enable multipull launch and retrievals at sea. The F-10 kite can pull vessels not only downwind but on all normal sailing courses across the wind. This is a good introductory system for all types of boaters...The F10 is a new kite system that can be used for propulsion power on vessels up to 40 feet in length. It generates 10 horsepower in 20 knots of wind and uses 2 square feet of deck space. To make an order go to http://kiteforsail.com/products.htmQ&A Is the kite easy to control? The kite is very easy to control through the launch and flight operations. I have flown the kite on a 3 hour fishing trip. Why not use a normal sail? One of the main advantages with a kite compared to a normal sail is that you can use a kite off any boat while a normal sail needs a large cumbersome mast and rigging. What does the F10 come with? The F10 kite system comes with one 6 square meter kite, kite lines and attachment system. How much fuel will I save? Variables that determine fuel saving are vessel course to the wind, kite speed and flight pattern. You will save the most fuel while heading strait down wind and steering the kite through a figure eight flight pattern. Fuel saving will lessen on reaching courses. Follow the F-10 flight guide and the motor kiting guide to maximize your fuel saving. Light Weight boats Less Than 500 Pounds. The F-10 works great on small hulls like Hobiecats, outrigger canoes and skiffs. Sailboats The F10 can be used on sailboats up to 40 feet in length. The F10 provides backup sail power encase of a demasting. Powerboats The F10 can be used on power boats up to 25 feet in length. It is advised that power boaters can use the kite to save fuel but special care should be taken while motor kiting. Read the motor kiting guide before attempting to use your kite with engine power Please fill out this form if you are interested in a kite system for your boat. http://www.kiteforsail.com/form.htm
