Band Members: Born and raised in Palm Beach County, Florida, DJ Dady Phats (aka Phat Lip) is no stranger to local Hip-Hop. If any Hip-Hop events are going on in and around the Palm Beaches, you can guarantee Dady Phats knows about them.Phats has always had a passion for getting local artists the promotional coverage they need and deserve. This fact can be traced back to when Phats was a member of the first street team in West Palm Beach for Nuff Nuff Music. Along with promoting for Nuff Nuff, Phats also made sure that everybody knew about local clubs and parties by flooding the streets with posters and flyers.
His talent for spreading the word did not go unnoticed by larger companies in the music industry. Phats would go on to work for such record labels as SlipNSlide and Def Jam just to name a few.Although he reached many people with the street team approach, Phats knew there was a better way to reach the masses. His focus was now set on radio.A contact made while doing street team promotion would now give Phats his first taste of radio airwaves. A local group of DJs going by the name Dem Damn Dawgs, had an underground pirate radio station and let Phat Lip join the pack. However, the FCC would put up a road block and shut them down. But being the hustler he is, Phats wouldnt let their obstacle stop his plans. He decided to apply for an internship at a larger and LEGAL radio station, X102.3.After interning there for 6 months, Phats happened to be around when another radio jock got fired. Someone elses loss would now be Phats gain. X102.3 asked Phats to fill the jocks position; of course he accepted.After DJing the overnight time slot for 8 months, Phats was asked to work on a new show called Local Love. Local Love is show dedicated to the local artists in south Florida. Although Phats was only asked to work behind the scenes, he still accepted the position. Hard work would later pay off and land Phats a job as the host of the show. A host that would go on to receive radio awards for the outstanding work he has done with the local artists in South Florida.
DJ Dady Phats remains the host of The Local Love Show and humbly plays the role of promoter to hundreds of local artists.
