I don't want to die without any scars.

About Me

I'm into long walks on the beach and social revolution. I'm currently 4+ years through a five year sentence with the U.S. Army. Fortunately I have the coolest job in the Army, a combat journalist. I finished one tour of Iraq where I got to write stories and take pictures on the war. Like everything in the Army, it was a mixed time. Now I'm back in Baghdad, living in the lap of luxury. I'm having a great time in the Army, but when I'm done I'm done. My real passion is community activism. I am for any people who are struggling against systems of control, both physical and mental. Rather than take on the world, however, I focus my efforts on my home, Somerville, Mass. I'm president of Save Our Somerville, a non-profit group dedicated to giving a voice to those who feel they have no voice in the city. Check out the myspace link on my favorites for more info on that.

My Interests

I'm all about self improvment. I like reading, writing, photography, working out, learning martial arts, camping, traveling, experiencing life before I die. Anything to feel alive.

I'd like to meet:

anyone interesting. People who have something to say.

Music:

Immortal Technique "the truth in the form of hip hop" -Mumia Abu Jamal. Dispatch (great boston band, wish they were still together.) Dead Prez (I love you even if you hate me because I'm white.) Hendrix, the Beatles, the Stones, Bob Marely all the classics. I like anything that has a message and/or is musically innovative, whether it be rap, rock, reagge. I despise mainstream pop.

Movies:

Fight Club, Braveheart, American History X, the Godfather I and II, the first Matrix. I like guy movies with a message

Television:

TV is the Devil! Most of it is crap. I stay away from the news and I'm better for it. But if I'm watching tv, I'm watchin the Simpsons, Familly Guy, Lost, Heroes, anything made by the fine people at HBO and Red Sox and Patriots games.

Books:

1984, Homage to Catalonia (both George Orwell), Thus Spoke Zaratustra (Nietzsche), People's History of the United States (Howard Zinn) For Whom the Bell Tolls (Hemingway), Man's Search For Meaning

Heroes:

Teddy Roosevelt, Che, Malcolm X, Hemingway, and, of course, The Punisher

the revolution won't be televised, but it will be online!

The time has come for a change! And I'm not talking about some far away land that we can't do anything about. I'm talking about what is going on in the streets of Somerville every single day. I'm tal...
