Peggy and Patsy Lynn are the twins born to country singer Loretta Lynn and her husband Oliver V. "Mooney/Doolittle" Lynn on August 6, 1964. Peggy was named after Loretta's sister and Patsy was named after the late great Patsy Cline. Peggy was born first and a few minutes later Patsy entered the world. They were welcomed by 4 older brothers and sisters, Betty Sue, Jack Benny (now deceased), Ernest Ray and Clara Marie (better known as Cissie).
As the twins got older they would take part in comercials that their mother was in. One was a Glow Coat comercial and some of Loretta's famous Crisco commercials. When Peggy and Patsy were just 3 weeks old they made their Opry debut with their mother Loretta. When they started singing in local clubs they performed under the name "The Honk-A-Billies" they didn't want to earn their fame just because their mother was Loretta Lynn. After singing one night the twins got lucky and somebody wanted to sign them. When they signed the name "Lynn" the guy started asking questions. "Is your mom Loretta Lynn" and they replied yes, The guy then said that would make them the niece of Crystal Gayle, which again is true.
The Lynns released their debut CD in early 1998 and was later nominated for Duo of the Year by the CMA's, but they lost to Brooxs and Dunn. They now have 3 or 4 CD's out. I say 3 or 4 because I have 4, but one is mainly the same thing as the other CD. They have also been on TV. In early 2000 they had a role on "Walker Texas Ranger" in which they played themselves and were kidnapped. Ironic how Loretta played herself and was kidnapped on Dukes of Hazzard, right? They also had a small part in the movie "Fire Down Below".
