Heimatklank is founded in 2005 and consists of Ruud Janssen and Nadine Wesselius. Ruud Janssen is professional artist and works meanwhile in a record store. During his studies at the Art Academy in Maastricht he created some sound installations and besides he founded a band (SpoondoctorO) in which he is still active playing bass and keys. In 2006 he became a member of the improvisation collective Thuth/losdq in which he plays keys and electronics. Nadine Wesselius finished her studies in applied mathematics at the TU Delft. During her studies she became acquinted with the sound studios of the TU, where she did a midi course and played djembe as well. In her spare time she was at the studios at a regular base to play the drummachines or she spinned the wheels with electronic music. Nowadays she mainly fills her time with producing music for the bands Party Partners and Heimatklank.
Heimatklank is looking for a soundsyntheses between dark soundscapes created from loops and samples and detailed noizy beats produced by analogue drum synthesisers. Het sound of heimatklank has a strong cinematic character supported by complex (voodoo)beats. Thus, a psychedelic trip with a sometimes jazzy edge. Influences are Autechre, Steve Reich, Amon Tobin, Eardrum.
