After graduating from CCHS in 2005, I took two years off. This fall, however, I'm going to Western Carolina University. I really happy to be going back to school. I'm majoring in political science. I haven't decided what I want to do for a career, but I do know that I'd like to join the Peace Corps for a year or two right after college.
I've always been interested in politics. I'm green, although I'm actually registered as a democrat. My political hero is Russ Feingold ; he's definetly one-of-a-kind. He's one of the few remaining honest politicians in America. Sadly, however, he's not running for president (although that doesn't mean I'm not still happy there's someone like him in the Senate!). Instead, I support Dennis Kucinich . If you want to hear my opinions on anything specific, just ask. I love debates.
History is, in my opinion, one of the most important sciences in the world. In the wise words of Keith Olbermann, "If we are to look forward with any clairity, it's important to know the facts about where we have been and how we got where we are." I tend to focus on British and eastern histories. Some of my pet topics are the Black Death, the Norman Conquest, and Chernobyl. I hope to someday travel to Chernobyl. Nuclear power/weapons/disasters have always fascinated me.
When I was about 16 (I don't actually remember), I stopped eating meat. I didn't know much at the time about how horrible animals are treated, but nonetheless I knew it was wrong. In the summer after I turned 19, I went vegan. I'd realized that the only thing holding me back was my own laziness. I had kept making excuses about how expensive it was (which it isn't) and other nonsense. After making the switch, I felt loads better. I had more energy, my skin looked better, and I realized it had been easier than making the initial conversion into vegetarianism. GoVeg is a great source for anyone seeking information on veganism or animal rights. Or you can just message me about it.
So that this isn't even longer, here's a quick rundown on all of my (better) traits: vegan, environmentalist, feminist, Buddhist, compassionate, moody, quiet, inquisitive, hippyish, peaceful, pacifist, activist, reader, writer of blogs, gnome-watcher, hiker, loyal, loner, learner
