Heroes:

My grandfather ... and my buddy SPC Bryce Filson, for keeping me sane in Iraq, and having the uncanny ability to let all the stress and chaos of combat roll right off his back. He always had my back in any situation when he knew I was doing the right thing, and he always had the balls to call me out when I was wrong. He's always been the most loyal and upstanding person I've had the pleasure of knowing. I couldn't have picked a better person to serve with, and to call a friend outside of the military.
