Rising up in the midst of the eminent Texas music scene has emerged a band that puts a new twist on rock. Never before have five young men from such diverse backgrounds come together to create anything like this. A captivating front man with a killer voice, edgy sound, and lyrics that tell a story, its no wonder why they continue to draw multiple heart beats at a time. Mikey Beasley ( Lead vocals), Kyle LeBlanc(guitar & back up vocals), Josh Seaman (lead guitar- back up vocals), Rick Graham (bass- back up vocals), and Mike Martinez (drums) have set a new standard to live up to in the world of music; makeshifte.
makeshifte began with a completely different roster, and now, with Mike Beasley remaining the only original member, they are stronger than ever. Even as the roster changed, so did the guys places on stage. Mike Beasley found his way from drums to front and center on the microphone, Rick Graham gave up the microphone and drums to perfect his passion on bass, and Josh Seaman established himself on the keyboard as well as his guitar. Its easy to see makeshifte is a band that can do anything they set their minds to.
As of summer 2005, makeshifte has created a buzz all around the US. With small acoustic tours under their belt, being voted Musicians Choice in the 94.5 (Clear Channel) Texas Buzz Awards, playing shows with Trapt, Hawthorne Heights, SXSW, and winning battle of the bands to play select Warped Tour dates, makeshifte has only begun.
Makeshifte's "Doesn't Really Matter" and "Footsteps" are currently being played on The Texas Buzz (94.5 KTBZ) which airs on Sunday nights from 11pm until midnight. Please request the song by calling 713-212-5945 on Sunday nights.
