JOEL HOSLER

In the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is where it all began for Singer/ Songwriter Joel Hosler. At the age of 10 he got an old dinged up nylon stringed guitar which he learned how to play by watching and listening to his father play amazingly almost every night in his guitar shop right in the middle of their small town of about 2000 people. In fact this is where Joel also worked on the weekends helping his father set up and repair guitars and where he used the time to watch and learn many things about the guitar on how to play and how to repair it. His father was in one of the first Christian Rock bands in the early 80’s so Joel also got a taste of touring at a young age going up and down the east coast over the summers with his father’s band. At the age of 15 Joel picked up the guitar one day and started writing his first songs. He says the first song that he wrote he remembers as being about timeless love and broken hearts. He also wrote about the need for that God shaped hole in his heart to be filled. His father was also a pastor at a local church and being a rocker and pastor’s son he of course went through many trials. He knew all about God but didn’t know God personally until the age of 18. He had just moved from Travelers Rest, SC to San Diego, CA with His family being right out of high school. It was a great shock for him. Growing up in a small town all his life to then leaving all his friends and familiarities and moving to the Big city where no one knew anyone and everyone was trying to be somebody. Joel knew he needed to find God for himself and have a talk with Him. About 2 months after being in California Joel went to a concert at a large church in San Diego where the singer of the band spoke about truly knowing God and having a personal relationship with Him. The next night Joel went to that same church’s Sunday night service and committed his life fully to the Lord. In the same month Joel met some guys at church who were looking for a bass player and Joel having a desire to play music no matter what he did. He picked up the bass and formed a band with these guys called Noise Ratchet. Eventually the band got another bass player and Joel took over to be the lead singer. Through the band Joel got to express his new found love and trust in the Lord they released a couple cd’s and got to tour all over North America. In Jan. of 2001 Joel met the girl of his dreams. Her name was Tiffany Heflin and she was also playing music. Many years went by with Joel touring and Tiffany flying back and forth from So Cal to Nashville, TN taking her shot at the music business. In Dec of 03 Joel and Tiffany lacking in money to get married they finally made it happen in Glendale, CA on a TV show called “For Better or for Worse”. Now being married for a couple years Tiffany and Joel decided to take a step back from the music industry and start fresh with something of their own. So in 06 they decided to start writing and singing together. They started by leading Worship at their church in San Diego and in early 07 Joel and Tiffany moved to Victorville, CA where Joel is now the worship leader at Calvary Chapel Adelanto. They both love to write and play music together at church and around So Cal at coffee shops and churches.
