The Celeb Group is a professional consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. We specialize in providing consulting services for celebrities in the music industry, performing arts, professional sports, national politics, and winners of state lotteries.
We offer Celebrity Crash Courses, which consists of Celebrity Orientation courses Part I & II, to assist clients in acclimating to the new lifestyle and understanding the new found responsibilities that accompany the change in lifestyle.
Next, though many celebrities may be college graduates, there are some who may be able to benefit from basic refresher courses, some which focus on comprehension skills. Literacy services are available for celebrities and their families, age 16 and over; testing and tutoring for dependents, age 5 - 19 years old, as well as a private teacher for youth on the road working in their craft.
The Celeb Group provides CONFIDENTIAL professional counseling for individuals and groups. Crisis intervention is available in cases of loss of loved ones, loss of career, change in marital status, changes in professional status, mental breakdown, and/or emergency. On-site services are available in case of crisis – we will travel to you in emergency cases. When necessary, we will accompany you to court to serve as a professional character witness and work with your legal counsel and the court in considering alternative adjudication for legal matters that concern you.
Next, we will provide advisement and referral services to clients who need directions on how to utilize various professional services that are essential in your life during the change in your lifestyle due to newly found celebrity status; or, for some of the veterans in their respective industry.
Finally, we will work with you or your designee to do damage control when a private matter becomes public.
ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
The Principal Consultant is a seasoned veteran in the Entertainment Industry. Dr. Raheem is Vice President/COO (1997 - present) of TIGHT 2 Def Music; as well as TIGHT IV Life Records and M. R. Management (2000-2001), an independent record label and music management company, owned by her son, RAHEEM, in the Atlanta Metro area. He has been a recording artist and record executive over 21 years. She set up the physical and administrative infrastructure for the Record Label, which included the Human Resources activities for the company; in addition, wrote the staff handbook for the company. Dr. Raheem is primarily responsible for Business Affairs Division. She received recognition Awards from the State of Georgia’s Secretary of State Office / Atlanta USA Magazine as Female Executive in the Entertainment Industry Award (2001); Exceptional Leadership & Outstanding Contributions to the Entertainment Industry (2001), and Outstanding Georgia Citizen - Goodwill Ambassador (2001).
Dr. Raheem holds the Ph.D. in SW Administration and Social Policy; Cognate: Public Administration (CAU) 12/90; MPA in Public Finance Management (Atlanta University) 7/90; MSW in Policy, Planning and Administration, concentrating in Community Services (Atlanta University) 5/86; BS in Criminal Justice (GSU) 6/84; AAS in Human Development and Psychology (El Centro College) 7/77; and Computer Programming Diploma in COBOL, ALC, RPG & DOS (12/72).
Dr. Raheem holds professional licensures in Social Work Practice (LMSW), School Social Work (S-7), and eligible for the License in Clinical Social Work Practice (LCSW), and the Educational Leadership Certificate (L-7). Dr. Raheem is certified in Psychotherapy. She is a former Registered Lobbyist for the State of Georgia. She holds membership in professional SW and public administration organizations, and is a board member for GA regional youth development center and a non-profit. She is the recipient of numerous awards during her professional career.
OTHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Dr. Raheem is President and CEO of Back 2 Basics Tutorial, LLC (2002-present), which specializes in providing comprehensive educational support services for grade K-12; utilizing two service delivery models, school-based and community-based. Tutoring services are offered in all subjects with particular focus on reading and math.
Dr. Raheem’s professional work spans over twenty (20) years in Human Services management and administration, social/public policy, fiscal management, economic and community development, research & evaluation, and approximately (17) years of teaching experience from high school through graduate school. She has taught undergraduate and graduate school at four colleges and universities in the Atlanta Metro Area.
Dr. Raheem is an accomplished lecturer, co-presenting such colloquium as "Engaging African American Parents in Literacy: Issues, Insights and Inspirations" at the University of Georgia /Athens. Descriptive Study of Incarcerated African American Males: Labor Market Participation and Drug Trafficking presented at Virginia State University 1995 National Association of African American Studies Conference, Petersburg, Virginia. She is also published with two works in progress.
