RAHEEM was born in Dallas, Texas on March 24th under the astrological sign of Aries. He holds the unique position in his family of being the middle child AND middle son of five children. He is one of two left-handed children in the family.
RAHEEM relocated to Atlanta, Georgia from Dallas, Texas with his family in 1978 where he began school at Venetian Hills ES and on to 8th grade at Therrell High School until 1985, where he graduated with honors. He remained an honor student throughout his school career. He also was a member of the JRROTC, Chess Captain, and Leader of a Social Club.
RAHEEM began his musical career while a student at Therrell High School in the early 1980s in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a regular participant in school talent shows, often winning the talent show with his unique style of RAP with a bass sound, becoming known as the Bass Rapper.
RAHEEM began his professional musical career under the name Raheem the Dream, though he never legally changed his professional name from Raheem the Dream, he began to use the name, RAHEEM, in 1998. He released his first single in 1986 under Arvis Records, self-titled, "Raheem The Dream". After a string of singles released under Arvis Records, Raheem started his own label, On Point Records, in 1990 and released his first Album under this label entitled, If U Don't Know, U Betta Ask Somebody. In 1994, Raheem renamed his recording label, RTD Productions. He produced, recorded, and distributed his own music until 1995, when he signed with Solar Records to do a joint recording venture. Under this partnership, he released the Album, Down South, Comin’ Up in 1995. During his professional musical career, he began performing in the entertainment arenas in the Southeast Region of the US in 1986 until now. In 1997, Raheem renamed his independent record label, Tight 2 Def Music and entered into a joint record deal with Breakaway Entertainment, where he released, "The Most Beautiful Girl" on the Tight 4 Life album.
Since RAHEEM became an Executive producer with his own recording label, he has signed and released such artists as DRAMA (Atlantic Records), Young Dro (T2D - formerly known as DRO), Fabo (T2D), Dem Franchize Boyz (Universal Music), Yola the Great (Atlantic Records), The Dream, which he adopted the name from Raheem The Dream after he left the Label (T2D Records - R&B Male Group, Guess Who); Just 4 U (T2D Records - R&B female group); and Ms. Neka (T2D R&B female solo). The well known producer, DJ Toomp, who has produced hits for Kanye West (Won 2008 Grammy for the hit single feat/T-Pain on the Album, Graduation) and Jay-Z, began his musical career as the DJ for Raheem the Dream in 1986, while Producer Mike Fresh, produced the first two singles for RAHEEM (Raheem the Dream & Eliminator). Shawty Redd, at the age of 15, produced his first professional Album under our label, Tight 2 Def Music, when he was brought onboard by Raheem to produce the Debut Album for DRAMA, entitled "Causin' Drama" with the Hit single, "Left Right Left". Shawty Redd recently produced the latest HOT HITS for Young Jeezy and Snoop Dogg. Other well known producers such as Cooly C and Red Money (Most Beautiful Girl by Raheem) also worked under Tight 2 Def Music's flagship. DJ Taz, along with Ms. Neka, recorded a huge hit single, "That's Right", with Raheem in 1997.
In addition to Raheem's musical talent, he has authored two books, entitled "The Record Game Can be a Dirty Game" and "How to Get Paid from the Record Game", by using his knowledge and experience as a recording artist, executive producer, and independent record label owner.
RAHEEM has signed R & B Duo, SWAGGA, Atlanta's NEWEST HEARTTHROBS. This DUO performed the hook for RAHEEM'S Classic Song, The Most Beautiful Girl, in 1998.
