This seven piece band has a seasoned musician in every crucial role.Everyone of these musicians lives touched each other in the Tejano circuit but quickly found that their tastes expanded past the tejano and encompassed other passions such as Salsa, R&B, Motown, Disco, Rock, Eighties, Country and whatever else the band might be feeling that week. All of this eclectic collection makes SoundRave unique. Not the fact that the different genres of music is being played in their sets, but that each style is played the way it was meant to be played while letting their own style shine through. Danny Favela: Drums. Starting off with The Bratz (no, not the dolls) but then found commercial success and toured with The City Boyz. Founded a band of his own with his friends to form Promesa later changing names to Basura and eventually met up with Mony and Tony (of Monica y Grupo Fuerte) A strong drummer with precise technique enough so to have him sought after for many a studio performance or guest musician on live gigs. The funloving Heartbeat of the band, Danny on the Drums!
Cesar Hernadez: Bass. Played with the band Gema, among others but his love of Latin Jazz, and ability to write and arrange put him head and shoulders above the rest when his then classmate, Mony, asked him to join her band. Always at the ready to play no matter what. The energetic drive that guides the band, Cesar on the Bass!
Roland Martinez: Percussion. Countless bands have sought a drummer like Roland for his experience, talent and his, over all warm fuzzy feeling, he generates to all he meets. Long list of accolades, small space condensed into: Being inducted into the TEJANO HALL OF FAME for touring with Los Fabulosos 4, Laura Canales and countless other bands. An R&B Conisseur infused with latin flavor, kicking it up a notch for SoundRave, Roland on percussion.
Carlos Moreno: Vocals. starting off as a keyboardist and backup vocalist. He then met up with Danny to sing for his band as lead for Promesa. Both bands (Promesa and Fuerte) mutually helped each other on the road, so much so that they decided to merge. It was then that this vocal talent was to be Mony's counterpart onstage. With his pulse on the hip hop world and culture his love for R&B shines through with his style. Extremely talented but without the ego, what an exquisite combination, Carlos on the vocals.
Monica (Mony) Ortiz-Rodriguez: Vocals
This talented vocalist started making waves in the community playing the guitar and singing at the tender age of ten, asked to tour Mexico at age 14. Music is a deep and respected passion for this chanteuse, everything from the great Italian arias to R&B to conjunto, appeals to this vocalist enabling her a true versatillity only an elite few can boast. Such attributes lead to numerous musical projects both in studio and live onstage. Nominated 3 times for the prestigeous Pura Vida Hispanic Music Award with a victory on the 3rd time. Little person...huge voice, Mony on the vocals.Monica and Tony co-founded Monica y Grupo Fuerte. SoundRave was a name chosen in late 2007 when the band was growing in a different musical direction.John Pacheco: Guitar. With a substantial musical history, John has played with the likes of Ram Herrera, David Mares, etc... this well liked fellow has had his share of tours in his lifetime. His background had him playing in funk bands then tejano, rock there isn't a gener that this guy isn't familiar with. Leadership or Blistering solos at the blink of an eye is not uncommon for this guitar virtuoso. Uncommon talent paired with experience sums it it up. Using his musical muscle...John on lead Guitar.Tony Rodriguez: Keyboards, trumpet. Barely into his teens, and touring with Sunny Ozuna as a trumpet player. Freelancing, and then playing, recording, and touring some more with, Arturo (Sluggo) Alderete's band, Machismo. Hired to be a studio musician for vocalist Monica back in the late 80's. Life took on a whole new turn when both took the helm of their musical destiny and have yet to look back. Alongside her, he too was winner of the Pura Vida Hispanic Music Award. Versitile musician, with a capital V...Tony on the Keys.
