I'm freaking ENGAGED!!!!

About Me

I'm a fun loving geek. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, my fiance and my dog (soon to be dogS - check out Gator's photos!), and tackling new math challenges. Yep, that's right... I like math. I also dig physics and history. I graduated with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics in April, and I just started grad school at the University of Kentucky(hooray warm places!). Eventually, I want to win the Nobel prize and then promptly go insane like all the great mathematicians do. Just kidding on that last part (actually both parts, there is no Nobel prize in mathematics).Actually, I've always wanted to be a pirate. So if anyone has a boat, a parrot and a funny hat they want to lend me, then I'll take my iPod full of Jimmy Buffet songs and I'll be on my way.

My Interests

I have ADD, so my interests change every few days (oh look... something shiny!). I love laughter, conversation, curling up under warm blankies and reading good books. I like math, physics, history and writing. I'm addicted to Trivial Pursuit, Sudoku and Skee-ball. I make things, bake things, sing songs, dance around, stick my tongue out at people and live life as well as I know how.

I'd like to meet:

Jimmy Buffett - because I only wish I could be so full of life Richard Feynman - for his views on life and physics and perhaps a bongo lesson or two J.K. Rowling - because I've spent so much of my time reading her books, and I guarantee I'll read them again Kevin Smith - because he's so damn funny Augustin-Louis Cauchy - since about a third of the theorems I learn in math classes are named after him Matt Nathanson - 'cause he rocked out on a 12-string guitar when I saw him in concertPeople who aren't super easily offended - they're the best sort for friends

Music:

Couldn't even begin to describe it all...

Movies:

The Harry Potter movies, Kevin Smith movies, and whatever happens to be playing when I make it over to the movie theater.

Television:

Law and Order: SVU, Desperate Housewives, Numb3rs, MonkNow that I have cable (and a DVR), I also watch Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and my new favorite, Psych.

Books:

It's pretty rare when I have time to read for pleasure, so I really enjoy whatever I read when I get to. Some of my favorite authors are: J.K. Rowling, Douglas Adams, Alexander McCall Smith, and Christopher Moore.

Heroes:

Adam Malik, Einstein, Feynman, and My campers from Camp Catch-a-Rainbow.

Today we got a new family member. For the moment, her name is Malibu (the name they gave her at the pound), but only until I decide on a name that doesn't remind me of Barbie dolls. This is her:She's ...
