Slideaway

Slideaway originated in the late 90's as a power pop band started by Fishkill-native, Josh Petrone. Inspired by Oasis and Third Eye Blind, it is comprised of a basic guitar, bass and drums trio, but incorporates as many other instruments as seen fit by Josh (guitar/vocals/songwriter) and anyone else involved. Those past contributors have included Courtney Calta on bass and Mike Fredericks on drums. The current roster still includes Courtney and Mike, with various players drifting in and out for practice sessions, such as Tom Stanszewski and Kat DiSimone. Slideaway - in case you couldn't tell - is fairly relaxed about its existence and its future - a nice break from the current bands who take themselves way too seriously, or not seriously enough. On the contrary, Slideaway doesn't suck, but would never shove itself down your throat. The main point is: they just don't give a shit. Sometimes, they like what they do. Sometimes, they don't. But they will always be what was started by Josh Petrone those long years back in high school: a group of normal people making music, getting away from life, or bitching about it. And that's probably the most realistic thing you'll ever get from the music industry. So, if you've managed to find this site, sit back and enjoy.
