Born and raised in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York, Bobby Black began as a young reggae artist at around age 12 then began rapping shortly after. A turn of events led him to Boston, MA where he and his cousin, another artist by the name of "A.B. Tha Hustla" formed a group called "2 Of The Realist" out of Boston, MA under the R.A.P.(Respect And Power)Records label. After some differences in direction, Black decided it was time to part ways.
