I am here for Friends

About Me

Single mom of an adorable 4 year old girl. Ultra long distance runner having completed tons of marathons and tons of ultra distances. I'm a strict vegetarian...working towards becoming vegan.I'm surrounded by wonderful, unique, sweet people whom I love very much. I'm drawn to those with opposing view points. They add so much to my life. I'm a Baker and a Barista. I ride my bike to work hours before sunrise, bake till 7am, Then I'm mixing and steaming lattes and mochas when everyone else in San Diego wakes up. 5 days a week. Simply put, the BEST job I've ever had. I'm proud to work with the coolest people in San Diego at the coolest cafe in University Heights, Mystic Mocha! AND, we serve the coolest customers around! I love them all. Without a doubt, I've never been happier than I am right now. I love my job! I love my friends! I love my super cool bike! I've got it pretty good right now. I see no problem in paying $45.00 for a glass of scotch, which I have! Cheers* Wink*...And, I see no problem in dancing all night long...and, "If your friends don't dance, then they are no friends of mine!"

My Interests

Great Scotch, and great sushi! Yoshino is best for Sushi, and great Scotch can be found at The Laurel and Bertrand's at Mister A's. I also enjoy dressing up in costume. Comic book conventions. Hooking up with friends for group bike rides, the VELODROME. Riding my Bianchi around town. It's a 2008 8 speed, celeste green...Milano, the super COOLEST and super CUTEST bike EVER!! I love long distance running, heat and endurance training, routinely hitting "The Wall", hiking and hanging out with my little girl. Very intrigued by piercings and tattoos. Gotta a thing for bicycles too...and the people who ride them... And I think I'm gonna re-learn to roller skate. I really like cheering for the Dolls and Quarter Boy...during Roller Derby...and no, no matter how many times you ask..I'm not trying out for the Derby Dolls!! Currently striving to bake biscuits as good as Kayleen's.

I'd like to meet:

Friends who dance, of course...and drink..still looking for that handsome man who can keep up with me.....I must explore this further...

Music:

Portishead, The Shins, anything by Steve Lawler, Leftfield, Nick Warren. Orbital, Chemical Brothers, DJ Icey, and DJ Eldon. Global Underground, Digweed before he turned mainstream, Moby, before he turned mainstream, Bjork, before she turned mainstream. Hard dark deep trance...classic rave and electronic late 80's to early 90's...303...Our local DJ Jon Bishop. Classic funk & soul. Duran Duran! I secretly enjoy Celine Dion and Tom Jones. Shabba Ranks rocks in my car. "Bedroom Bully" by Shabba Ranks, is my new favorite song.

Movies:

I had a $15,000 Pioneer Elite home theater with 5 M&K speakers....and one giant M&K subwoofer that I had to give up when I got divorced. I got it for the sound. I'm a sound junkie. AND I appreciate good cinema. Any movie with thunderous sound! And a movie with quality sound that pushes the 5.1 Go tell it to the Marines. The Unholy Three. Lon Chaney Sr films. Singing in the Rain, and any film where Russel Crowe takes his shirt off. Rob Roy....and any film where Liam Neeson takes his shirt off.

Television:

Family guy, The Simpsons, Classic South Park, Courage, The Cowardly Dog, and any other NOT politically correct show. I am not easily offended.

Books:

The Good Earth. Ordeal By Hunger. Whitaker Chambers, Andrew Linzey and his books on Animal Theology/rights. Ann Coulter, Bill Bennett, Bill Buckly, Charles Krauthammer. Political books that sway on the side of conservative. National Review and Human Events magazine. I keep my right wing Christian, conservative views to myself, out of respect for my loved ones. This is not something one can change by banter.

Heroes:

Ray Harryhaussen, Phil Tippet and the great classic model makers of film...an art long gone. Dick Smith, Rick Baker, Tom Savini, Rob Bottin, and the great masters of appliance make up in film....an art long gone. Lon Chaney Sr. Ben Jones, Scott Jurek, Yainnis Kouros, Ruben Cantu: My Badwater Runner and Marshall Ulrich. Great ultra runners, the explorers who push the limits and redefine human potential..... AND a dog named Whiskey.
