May it please the-- what do I say after that?

About Me

I used to say that I was just some guy who happened to be in Law School, but as I was warned, it has consumed me and it's only fair to define myself as a law student first and foremost. [Sigh...] My background is in filmmaking, which is what I originally went to school to study--music videos, specifically--from mv production/editing to mv history. I still plan to spend the better part of my life producing music videos because I believe that when it's done well, the right imagery with the right music is one of the most beautiful artforms you can ever experience. But as long as I keep doing videos for obscure bands that I really love, like The Legendary Pink Dots and The Gloomadeers, I'm going to have keep financing them myself. And with minimum budgets starting at $2,500, a lucrative career with occasional pauses for production seems to be a necessity--cogito ergo sum: Law School. (If I were really quoting Descartes, that quote would be entirely misplaced, but I'm actually quoting David Brent from The Office , so it works perfectly.) These projects may be few and far between, but I've never experienced anything quite as fulfilling as putting film to music. (REAL FILM, that is). So I'll say that that's what I'm about.
And I like networking. Not the computer kind--that shit sucks. I just like bringing together people of similar mindsets...especially if the connections aren't immediately recognizable. Putting together the perfect group of people to complete a really cool film project is golden.
And I love being a dad. Especially when you've got a daughter that dances her butt off to Kraftwerk and refuses to go to bed without a toy keyboard in her hands. :-)
