All originally from Long Island, Mr. Guy has been a band since October 2003. Not having any experience with the music scene and playing shows, Liz, Jamie, Michelle, Kelly and Katie decided they would give it a shot and show long island that girls indeed can play their instruments. Kelly and Jamie attend Bethpage High School together and were previously in a band called Jump On Andrew which went nowhere and ended in the deep pit of a molten lava filled volcano. They made it out ok and later met up with Katie Liz and Michelle who all knew eachother since birth. Liz and michelles brother went to preschool together. Then when Michelle and Katie were delivered from the womb, they were inseperable. Since they all had a great appreciation for music, they often attended local long island shows, particularly to see a band that goes by the name of the Arrogant Sons of Bitches. Liz and Kelly started running into eachother, chatting here and there, and eventually became friends. Before long the five of them were going to shows together. After one evening of seeing the movie School of Rock, the girls decided it was their turn to educate the Long Island male dominated rock scene. (after they learned how to play their instruments of course.) So now Mr. Guy and a few good men is one of the few true girl rock bands that even the boys will appreciate! (..and no, we're not sleeping with them). Now, Mr. Guy is currently all attending colleges in all different places, Liz - CW Post (Long Island0, Katie - Loyolla (Maryland), Jamie - SUNY Oneonta (Upstate NY), Michelle - SUNY Cortland (Upstate NY) and Kelly - Nassau Community College (Long Island). Although we are all away from each other, we try to play as many shows here and there through out the course of the year. Now that we're all home for the summer we hope to be back in action at full force so look out for our upcoming shows!!
