If you could ask Hip-Hop where it’s going, what would it say? The history of Hip-Hop contains a truth that can be used to describe its future and ambition belonging to the world. Right now Hip-Hop needs more than just another rapper in its book. It longs for a new chapter in the long struggle of its existence. What is needed is that evolution that occurs when innovation and vision collide with perfection. Hip-Hop was and is the beginning of what will never end. Over 20 years of music and cultural love, over 20 years of that sustained bond between the beats, lyrics and the people that live it. And at the age of 22 ESICKZ is Hip-Hop.
Born as Steven Calderon on June 14,1985 to Dominican Parents in Washington Heights, New York. ESICKZ would then move to East New York, Brooklyn where he would then grow up witnessing and experiencing the hardships and lessons of that street life. With the hood influencing him, at just the age of sixteen he would drop out of high school by the 11th grade and adapted to providing for himself by any means necessary.
Before he started writing his music and freestyles ESICKZ also known as E6, gave himself the name when he got into the graff game where he felt he could freely express himself, but it wasn’t long before his natural competitiveness, the music, his own life experiences, and his artistic creativeness as well as just seeing and being around other MCs trying to make it everyday did he decide that this is what he wanted to do, become an artist. With the support of both his mother and father who never let him forget where he came from, it gave him that inspiration and pride of not only being Dominican but also Latino period. Becoming a father made him even more hungrier with his first son born whom he named Brooklen and his new born daughter he is more determined then ever to make it in life and accomplish his goals.
This is what’s enabling E6 to defy the odds, and remain focused on his goals and future career. E6's amicable personality has increased his fan base, and his catchy hits have made him widespread. E6 has performed at countless events and has done numerous solos. Filled with drive and determination to make it in the industry, E6 continues Bridging the gap to his success. As his Dreams gradually become reality, He exclaims, " It is a blessing and my teams time to shine, 4's UP", " I want to be heard and I will be heard". Currently E6 is working on his album and shopping his demos in search of a record deal. As if knowing that he is destined for greatness and stardom, E6 Smiles while saying, "Things are going so well and it just keeps getting better."
