They are influenced by many artists such as: E-40, UGK, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, DPG, Jay-Z, Twista, Tech Nine, Outkast & Dr. Dre. A smooth blend of these influences mixed with raw talent is what creates C&Us unique, yet familiar sound. With their music C&U is driven to contribute to the diverse culture of the MidWest rap movement. Theyve had the opportunity to rock stages with the likes of Devin the Dude, Kansas City (MO) rappers Tha Popper & Extacy, Reggie B, & D.O.P.E (a.k.a. D.Dot). In April of 2005, C&U placed top ten in the CVT Records Talent Showcase at the Black Forest Theater in Dallas, Texas amongst dozens of artists from different areas across the United States.
