I'm Daniel, a ambitious cat striving for something better.
MY history. I've worked at the White House in 2000 for Clinton in Political Affairs (West Wing and OEOB). I've started a web development firm called 150Labs. I went to Emory University in ATL and managed to fall in love with Waffle Houses.
I've worked with Rock the Vote for about 2.5 years working on online/tech partnerships with companies such as Motorola, Cingular, Microsoft, MySpace.com and managing a Street Team of a 15k with a record label street team company called M80.
I found myself immersed in the advertising world as an Interactive Account Executive for TEQUILA at TBWA Chiat Day working on interactive projects for MasterFoods, a new brand launch called 7 Paths, Harmon Kardon, Energizer and Hoover.
Moving along the road of life, I was the Marketing & Business Dev Manager for MECA Communications working on American Idol, Rolling Stone & ARTISTDirect.
Now I find myself at Geffen Records at Interscope/A&M/Geffen as the New Media Manager for Pop/Top 40.
All in all, a very busy life I live.
The diaspora can go on and on, but I'll conclude with my biggest accomplishment of them all? Sustaining my ambition through it all.
Random consciousness.
Love and loss. Happiness and pain. Why must the there always be an ironic dichotomy, bringing fortune and misfortune in this harsh yet hopeful binary world.
Is it always the set of 2 distinctions separating one from another? Simply, yes. In a more complicated manner, no. Ambivalence is what's left in the end. That's the only absolute construction I can embrace in the end. Yes, tenuous at best.
The saddest time of the year for me would have to be the amorphous, indistinguisable lump of days between Christmas and New Years. Call it the weather. Call it the lack of sunshine. or perhaps just the nostalgic memories of love, being loved and loving or lack thereof.. I've never had a holiday season home with my family and friends.
I think it's about to change this year.
Summer is the radiance of my year. The sun shining brightly and the zephyr felt on a summer night. so many great memories.
Memories pull me and aspirations drive me.
Absolute effervescence.
