About Me

My profile was customized using the Taming the Beast.net MySpace Layout Generator
Free Countdown Clocks at WishAFriend.com ..
I now understand the words of Maya Angelou, "I don't shout or jump about or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing it ought to make you proud. I say, it's in the click of my heels, the bend of my hair, the palm of my hand, the need of my care, 'cause I'm a woman phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, that's me."
It's about what pours out of you, out of me. It's about the vase that's broken so as the torch can be seen. It's about not placing the light under a basket.
I am so grateful for the life I'm living. I have a family, a wonderfully made family. Two boys, a man I love, and an extended family that keeps bouncing all around making life interesting.
I am filled with peace, even during the storm.

My Interests

I enjoy a good conversation over coffee/beer, depending on the company and chat. I dont particularly have a certain topic that I enjoy the most when it comes to chatting. Youre everyday this and that type stuff is exciting enough for me, or we can become a bit philisophical, where you'll see me zone out from time to time just to take a reality check.

I love to read, mainly non-fiction, Christian, dig deep into the soul type books, but occassionally you'll see me with a light-hearted novel. Currently, I'm reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. By Gregory Maguire. I admire people who use their talents, who bring fantasy, imagination, and real world issues all together with a few laughs in between.

I also have gotten all hooked up on the idea of working-out, becoming healthier. As you can see, further down, there is a list of websites I regularly view and they are all geared in some way around this hobby.

Speaking of hobbies, I believe education must be one of mine, as well. I'm working on my Master's in Special Ed, and I just cant seem to get enough of new information. I think I'm addicted. I seriously enjoy being a student, as well as a teacher. :)

And then there are the other interests:
being outdoors, flowers, stars, traveling to new places, guitars, food, and people.

There, that about wraps up my interests. Oh, but dont forget to check out the links...I worked hard on doing those. :)

"Our Father, thank you for letting me see this New Day. Thank you that you didn't allow the bed I lay on last night to be my cooling board, nor my blanket my winding sheet. Guide my feet this day along the straight and narrow, and help me to put a bridle on my tongue. Bless this house, and everybody in it. Thank you, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen."

"I find it interesting that the meanest life, the poorest existence, is attributed to God's will, but as human beings become more affluent, as their living standard and style begin to ascend the material scale, God descends the scale of responsibility at a commensurate speed."

Heroes:

Christian
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow.
