About Me

I've lived in North Carolina all my life--born in Charlotte, lived 12 years in Davidson, and now my family's back in Charlotte while I'm at school in Durham. I've played piano since age 6, guitar since age 14, and I debuted my voice singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at a church talent show at age 4, sitting on top of the piano my dad played as accompaniment (check out my photos for evidence). I've been writing poetry since elementary school and songs since I got my Big Baby Taylor in 8th grade (I've since graduated to the Taylor 314ce); I write both for guitar and for piano. I go to Duke University, where I am studying Religion. Writing music is fun for me but not overly serious (that is, I do not intend to pursue it as a career). The recordings I've posted here are basic and sound a lot like what you might get if you sat me down with an instrument and asked me to play some of my music. My songs are all very personal and dear to me, so be nice, even in criticism (which is welcome). Enjoy!
