Hero was born in the Hokianga (north New Zealand) on a commune called Sunhillow in the late 70s. Coming from a very musical background his mother being an accomplished flautist, pianist and guitarist, it wasnt long before he was following in her footsteps picking up a love of music.After toying with guitar and drums till he was about nine years old and mostly being influenced by late 60s early 70s soul and rock, the only thing to do seemed to be to take up the bass guitar which remains his most satisfying instrument to date.After moving to Auckland city at the age of twelve he wasted no time finding a musical social scene hanging out in the music class-room every lunch time. He began to explore any avenue of genre, sound and style put to him. It wasnt long before a number of musicians took him under their wings and proceeded to help him refine ideas and techniques.After playing in and with multiple bands and musicians he started producing music to be proud of or in his words music not to be ashamed of. His CV seems to be ever growing and consisting of names like; Glen Fernando Camble (the misunderstood) Micheal Foster (The Pretenders), Breakinwreckwordz mcs such as Tourettes and Cyphanetik to name a few. Heros debut album cabin fever released on Oxen records in 2004 This 12" 180g heavy vinyl (only) is an instrumental hip hop album.
