Carlo Contocalakis was born on 18/09/1981 in the beautiful city of Naples. Thanks to his father’s intuition, at the age of eight he started to study the piano and musical theory with Maestro M. Parmiciano, graduate of the Naples Conservatory. Since 1992 he has been dedicating his time to the study of keyboards, guided by maestro R. Zeolla with whom he has also begun to study classical and modern song. While continuing his research for a personalised singing style, in 2005 he took up the study of the flute, following the teachings of Maestro R. De Rogatis, graduate of the Naples Conservatory, with whom he still studies today. An eclectic musician, he has in recent years also taken up the study of classical and jazz guitar. As a soloist and sometimes accompanied by his meastro or by a group of musicians, he has given numerous performances both in public and in privately, obtaining the approval of his audiences and deciding to take up a career as a songster. Meanwhile, in 2006, he decided to participate in the selections for the Festival of San Marino, singing a cover song live and getting through the first round. After a period of reflection he began to write his own material, joined the SIAE as a songster and home-produced his first compositions. In this way Carlo discoverted his true nature and his passion for straight-forward, intruiging melodies, for refined, absorbing lyrics and for the hard sonorities of rock, ambient and alternative music which allow him to express himself freely and to greatest effect. At the moment he is working towards the conclusion of his project with new compositions and the research of a musical language that is also a way of life.
