Vanhelgd started in the fall of 2007 as an ugly oldschool death/punk band. The intention is to play ugly dirty antireligious misanthropic music in the vein of the old masters. The members play/used to play in bands like Ocean Chief, Section 8, the Jam Session and Ceremonial Execution.
In the spring of 2008 Vanhelgd did their first live performance on a local club.
In July 2008 the first studio recordings started.
Vanhelgd is against religon in all its aspects and denies the exsitence of god, heaven and hell. Religion is a tool to control humanity and put us in slavery. To trust something supernatural is to hide from your fears and problems. Humanity is the greatest plague ever seen on this earth.
