About Me

Heres the scoop. The Mods are a trio based out of the Verde Valley (basically Camp Verde and Cottonwood) though they sound like they are based out of another dimension where 1960s British invasion/psychedelia meets 1970s California rock meets 1990s alternative/Britpop/grunge. And on top of that, they mix these styles together and play with the ferocity of modern garage rock bands. Just imagine that for a second. It might be kind of hard to picture, but its like staring at a painting by Picasso. You never know how all the different pieces tie in, but it makes something that becomes timeless.
Ok, those last few statements were total B.S.
Or are they?
You might just have to decide for yourself.
The band was formed by guitarist Travis Eaton and bassist Louis Occhiline, both hailing from the defunct band Frequency Response. They wanted to move into an area where they could seamlessly incorporate all their influences, and they decided one day in June 2004 to have a jam session with drummer Gabriel Rhodes (who also drums in the band Denarius). Eaton had already been in numerous bands with Gabe, most notably Heavy Soul in 2002-2003 which also featured the esteemed Brian Alston and Dillon Morgan, and knew that by adding him in the group they could achieve their musical goals. Two years later, they're at work on a full-length album and planning more shows coming up here in the near future. Keep in mind, the shows are not only for fans of the band...skeptics are welcome too, the boys are always looking for new people to convert to the ways of the Mods.

Influences: Oh wow...there are too many to mention them all, but some of our influences include the Beatles, Cream, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Doors, Foo Fighters, The Hives, The Jam, Jet, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kinks, Kings of Leon, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Oasis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rolling Stones, Secret Machines, Sloan, Stone Temple Pilots, Stereophonics, Soundtrack of our Lives, The Verve, Weezer, but I would have to say our main influence is the Who (our name is a tribute to them).
Sounds Like: A big melting pot of all the aforementioned bands, nothing that sucks.
