About Me

"So, you are 28?" he asks. "mmhhhmm" she replies. "You want a drink?" he mumbles. "I told you I don't smoke!" "I didn't ask that" "But you were thinking it" "You're right, I was." "Excuse me." She walks over to the door, stops as if she has seen this door before. Then realizes, she had walked through that very same door earlier. She opens the door ever so slowly, peeks out to check if all was safe. And just like that, she was gone.

My Interests

photography, going to shows, art, music, wearing tube socks.

I'd like to meet:

My adopted mother."Movin' to the big city huh?" "Yeah." I say. "You know the kids really miss you" She says this so sincerely while getting dinner ready. Dinner mostly consisted of Tysons frozen chicken breasts, with a buffalo batter. Baked, never fried. She never ate that of course. Mixed greens in a bag with roasted unsalted sunflower seeds. The kids run in the house, this is the first time I've laid eyes on my younger siblings in almost a year. "Hey Mom can we go to the pool?" My brother asks taller, built, the little one stands next to him with eager eyes. "Yeah, dinners going to be ready soon" "Mom, dinners going to be ready in 8-10 minutes." My sarcastic tone sets in, she gives me a blank stare then says,"I know honey, you want a glass of wine?" "Sure, hey guys." "Hey, Bye!" "You know Erin, they were so excited when they found out you were coming." "Mom, they just left for the pool." "What? Pour me a glass of wine sweetie, I like the grey in your hair, it gives you character." "Huh...oh, thanks" "Dawna!" My Nanas voice echoes from the suburban home I grew up in, tall ceilings spanish tile, a yuppie/hippies dream. 5 minutes pass, my grandmother finally makes it downstairs. "What's for dinner?" she asks in a disinterested tone. Mom doesn't answer, instead she sighs. "Tired Mom?" I ask. "Honey, I'm always tired, lets talk about you." "Hi Honey, my grandmother pats me on the back, you sure are getting thinner, you were overweight before, but I always thought you wore it well." "Ummm thanks Nana." I look over to my Mom 8-10 minutes have passed and the oven baked chicken fingers are ready. She pulls them out of the oven. I know I should opt for the bag o' greens, but instead I grab a handful of cheeze-its, a piece of chicken, with a slice of jalapeno soy cheese.
