About Me

I am a 28 y/o man from Peru, raised in NYC and currently residing in San Diego. I hold few things close to my heart. That is a place that you must work your way into, but once there, you have my friendship to rely on through the hardest times and the sweetest times. Money is not important to me. What is important is Life. Life to me is made up of my Family, Friends, Knowledge, Justice, Freedom and Compasion. I am a very patient man, but do not think that it means you can walk all over me. My quietness does not mean weakness. I just prefer to think things through before I open my mouth. I love music. It has and always will be my first love. Hip Hop is the sound that nurtured me trhough my youth so I consider it a friend, if not family. But my tastes in music vary like the 31 flavors in Baskin Robbins. Jazz, salsa, funk, punk, swing, marineras, reggae, it all tastes just as sweet to me. My second love is poetry, but for those that know the difference between rap and Hip Hop, they know that Poetry and Hip Hop are one and the same. I won't say I know what my purpose in life is, but i know what I believe I am here for. And that is to unite and stand up for the underdog. The poor, the hungry, the disenfranchised. I am here to help fight the struggle that is being faced by the masses as I am one them. I am not a religious person, but I am a spiritual person. I have my goods and my bads. I do not cover my shortcomings, but i do try to improve and uplift myself to the level I think I should be at. I am not a conformist. No man or law can tell me to be who I am. I am me.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Those that seek to find the truth. Those that know true love. Those that are willing to sacrifice for the betterment of this world. And those that are forgiving and patient. (And if you got a nice smile and a phatty you can say hi too)

Music:

I love to try out new music. So many different styles speak to me. Hip Hop is number one. But i do love Jazz, reggae, latin rock, salsa, rhumba, samba, blues, etc etc... If it sounds good to me, i'll take it.

Television:

I just recently turned off my TV. There was nothing but crap and propaganda on it. Although i do miss Def Poetry Jam, Chapelle Show, Simpsons and Family guy. Oh, and test patterns, yeah, test patterns...

Books:

Tsun Tzu, Hemingway, Kerouac, Bukowski, Lorca, Langston Hughes, Motorcycle Diaries, Autobiography of Malcolm X, Ghandi, Angela Davis, Cesar Chavez, Mario Vargas Llosa, N. Machiavelli, Piñero, Saul Williams, Chomsky, Guevara, Mumia Abu Jamal, Message Down Under (Thanks Pat!)... I love to devour books. I could read a book over and over again and see new things all the time. Oh, and I almost forgot Maxim, Boondocks and fortune cookies.

Heroes:

My MOTHER. THE STRONGEST WOMAN I HAVE KNOWN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Ernesto Che Guevara, Malcolm X, Tupac Amaru II, Ghandi, Miguel Piñero, Jack Kerouac, Bob Marley, all the revolutionaries that never gave up the fight.
