about Steer Clear :
Vinny,Mark && p0d first started as part of a local ska punk band called Social Outcasts.The band sadly split && Vinny,p0d,Mark,Sib(although at their first gig,sib barely knew how to play bass,how much hes learned =] ) && Pearse started Steer Clear (named after an incident with a fat teacher in study class).
They released an EP called Dog In A Bath with an original version of Lunch Money.
Pearse sadly left,&& Ciarán took over as lead vocalist.the band were doing very well && released an EP called Fairytales That I Despise.
again, Steer Clear lost their vocalist,to be replaced by Dave (probably the most well known of the three).After entering the Blast:beat competition,they reached the national finals but came in 4th. But Steer Clear still received a record deal with Blastspace Records.
Dave then left because his voice didnt compliment the band && p0d ended up taking over lead vocals for the recording of No...You Hang Up.
they then decided to get a keyboardist for when they play live,&& finally found Simon,who gelled with the band almost straight away.
Steer Clear had created a big fan base in Ireland && landed huge support slots with Enter Shikari && Good Charlotte.these slots got Steer Clear to a wider audience && Sib got a pretty kickass birthday present =p.they released their first single,Please Be My Girlfriend Again (a live favourite) & released their debut album,No...You Hang Up soon after.
they played their first headliner in July 2007(with a huge turnout) && have had many since.
after supporting Elliot Minor their fan base grew && grew. Steer Clear have played in SXSW in Texas this year and played a headline tour with The Story So Far which included two sold out dates.they also played dates in England and Wales and had a sold out show in Cardiff :)
They supported Paramore in the RDS in June and are due to release their second single off their album No, You Hang Up on the 27th of June :)
they have been getting bigger,becoming more than a small underground band made for filling Friday nights.
the future looks truly awesome for these guys && I honestly cant see any people who deserve it more <3
