Guerrilla::Words Info: Founded in 2002 by poet Brian Buno and DJ Kuttin Kandi of Fifth Platoon, gw's open mic in the East Village is now the longest free monthly showcase in New York City. General Manager, Encite oversees most of the showcases, while Brian Buno returned in 2006 as master of ceremonies. Throughout the years artists that have contributed to the cause range from names such as:Immortal Technique,Wordsworth,Percee P, DMC World Champion I-Emerge, Pumkinhead, Rax 1, Audio Assault, 84, Organic Thoughts, Loer Velocity, Oktober, Doujah Raze, Chan, Substantial,Fresh Daily, Naturel,Fortilive, Dj Neil Armstrong and more......... The core group of individuals who put in a helping hand for this non profit showcase individually grew to their own success as well.
