I am here for Friends

About Me

I am engaged to the most wonderful man on the planet!!! Sorry, all you ladies who think you've bagged the perfect man - I won that game :) Right now I'm finishing up my LAST semester of college and looking forward to my internship with Sefar this fall. Life is interesting right now; school is ending, a marriage will be beginning, a new job will be starting, and growing up is almost something that I did way-back-when.
"You could be in a place that sucks- and you could be in a place that sucks and feel you belong- which is even worse." - Bill DeHoff, Graphic Design instructor
I support WorldVision . They are a Christian organization that provides relief to children all over the world. Even though they are un-ashamedly Christian, they do NOT force people to convert to Christianity in order to receive help from WorldVision. They are walking the talk, so to speak, and winning the world with kindness, rather than fear tactics. You can view statistics on how they use their money at Charity Navigator .

My Interests

When I'm not doing homework I'm watching movies, hanging out with Mike, hanging out with other friends, playing on the computer, crochet or reading a book. StumbleUpon is the best and worst thing ever! Check my blog for "Link-a-Holics" posts - that's where I post the good, the bad, and the ugly of StumbleUpon finds.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who doesn't want to just "hook up" or things along that line. I like friends, I like meeting them and having them and being around them. Friends are fun.

I also want to meet Third Day. They rock!

Music:

Listening to right now: Christian music: Third Day, Shane & Shane, The Benjamin Gate, David Crowder Band, and GSMegaphone, among others. Secular: Iron & Wine, Jack Johnson, Donovan Frankenreiter, Amos Lee, Feist and KT Tunstall.Listen to when not listening to the above: I like a rather eclectic mix of music. They include The Monkeys, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Deathcab for Cutie, Paul Simon, The Arcade Fire, Johnny Cash, Drive-by Truckers, Citizen Cope, Cake, Steppenwolf, Aerosmith, Counting Crows, Def Leppard, Whitesnake (I'm sorry), Dixie Chicks, G.Love, Norah Jones, The Decemberists, India Arie, Bebo Norman, Bethany Dillon, Chris Rice, DC Talk, AudioAdrenaline, Newsboys, Delerious, Five Iron Frenzy, Jonah33, Petra, Riley Armstrong, Salvador, Sixpence None the Richer, Steven Curtis Chapman, Switchfoot, and many, many more.

Movies:

My favorites include, but are not limited to (and in no particular order):
~Princess Bride
~Lord of the Rings trilogy
~The Terminal
~Shrek
~Escanaba in Da Moonlight - Strange. Strange. Strange. But hilarious!
~Finding Neverland
~50 First Dates
~Sabrina (with Audrey Hepburn)
~Bruce Almighty
~Dodgeball
~Father of the Bride
~Ferris Beuler's Day Off
~Shawn of the Dead
~Everything Is Illuminated
~Chronicles of Narnia (old and new)

P.s. NEVER see these movies:
~Evil Dead
~A.I.
~About Schmidt
~The Aviator
~Catch Me If You Can
~Butterfly Effect

Chickens Break up Bunny Fight

Television:

Gilmore Girls, That 70's Show, Stargate SG-1, Star Trek (Next Generation, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise), Will & Grace, Scrubs, Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, Deadliest Catch, The Office, 30 Rock, My Name is Earl and this one is quite old, but awesome none-the-less: Quantum Leap.

Books:

Reading Right Now:
~God's Politics by Jim Wallace
~The Gospel of Peace by James B. Richards
~The Lasting Promise by Stanley, Trathen, McCain, and Bryan
~Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

Favorites:
Anything by Frank Peretti, but especially This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness as well as The Visitation and Monster and The Oath.... yeah, just read all of his books. They're all great.
Also, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, as well as some of his non-fiction such as Mere Christianity. Ted Dekker is quickly climbing my favorite author list with his book Blink as well. But Frank Peretti will always be at the top.

Excited To Read in the Future:
~House, a collaboration between Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker
~Circle Trilogy (Black, White, and Red) by Ted Dekker

Heroes:

Gambit
Mom & Dad
Les
