Just the End has come a long way since its formation in 2005. Rick and James began searching for a drummer to start a classic rock cover band in late 2004. With no luck for a couple months, all hope seemed lost. Then, after getting to know Stuart from his biology class, James found that he played drums. Slightly pissed off that Stuart had neglected to tell him, even though they had been friends for a few months already, James asked Stuart if he would like to start a band. A short while later, James and Rick entered Stuart's house for the first time and walked into what would soon be the most important room of their lives: the echo room.
The Someones (their original name) had an immediate connection. With Rick on lead guitar, James on bass, and Stuart on the drumset; they began creating songs and playing their old favorites. The one thing they needed, however, was a singer. A few people came and tried, but no one seemed to fit in with the band. So, after a while Rick and James took on the role of singing.
The Someones did some small shows and played mostly covers. They wrote some meaningless songs with very... strange names... but after a while, they realized they needed to change their style up. Becoming a more modern punk rock band, Just the End was born. They started to write songs with meaning behind them, such as Let's Forget. But something was still missing: a back-up guitarist.
Murph was added to the band in the summer of 2006, over a year after the original band started. He fit well with the band and began hanging out with them and doing some of the same stupid shit they did. It was apparent that the band was complete.
Since then, the writing duo of Rick and James have been writing songs, such as Impeachment and Song About You. They write about their opinions and personal life experiences, putting their hearts and souls into each song they create. Now, many shows and events later, Just the End's debut album is being recorded. Consisting of about 12 songs, the entire band is very happy with it. Make sure you buy it when it is released later this spring!
