--That's the word that describes the best the music of the Vandali.
In the essence, they are old style 40,50, flavour( Scruggs&Flatt) duo
consisted of Vanda (guitar and lead vocal) and Siny (banjo, mandolin,
harp, lead vocal).
It all begun in the year 2004. in a little adriatic town Korcula (Dalmatia),
playing open teraces and bars in the summertime, gathering
experiance and knowledge of live performance and entertainment.
Now 4 years later, the vandali are doing up to two hundred
concerts per year across Croatia and abroad.
On their Croatian tours, 2005.,2006.,2007.,they were playing bars,
clubs, and small concert halls in Split, Zadar,Rijeka,Zagreb,Karlovac,
Varazdin…
But, the Vandali are ,not local band; being both from different places,
Siny from Split, Vanda from Korcula, music takes them everywhere
and highway is their home…!!
Fact that they are hobos, confirmes their 2006, 2007, Irish
tour that included dozen towns.
Ireland was followed by Italy where they recorded their first album
called “Because we like it†in Roman studio FDS produced and
recorded by Fabio Torregrossa.
Their repertoire is also best described by word-Folk. They are unic
combination of bluegrass, country, old style blues, but also
modern acoustic music.
They take their little place in a long tradition of old
Style players like: Bob Dylan, Leadbelly, Bill Monroe,
Neil Young, Damien Rice, Tracy Chapman,EmmyLou Harris.
