About Me

Words of wisdom from a fool. If you do read what I have to share, I hope it does make you a little happier or make you think about things in a new way... or at a minimum entertain you for a moment.

When you close your doors, and make darkness within, remember never to say that you are alone, for you are not alone; nay, God is within, and your genius is within. And what need have they of light to see what you are doing? - Epictetus (55 AD - 135 AD)
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.
And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything. - William Shakespeare
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. - Robert Heinlein
No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are slippery and thought is viscous. - Henry Adams
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. - Dr. Seuss (1904 - 1991)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Sometimes the messenger doesn't matter as much as the message. But when the messenger is a catalyst, sometimes the message becomes a movement. The people of this nation need that catalyst and I believe Barak Obama can be just that. In any case, please participate in the process you have been given as one of the many liberties in this great country. Vote.

Prez. W.... so I can smack 'm upside the head and ask him what the hell he is doing f*..$ing up the country and world.

Wow. Carl Sagan, I know you are not a person who believes in an omnicent being, but nevertheless you definitely help keep us in our place. Some deep thoughts and some great clips of motion pictures, both classics and personal favorites.

If I have any specific names, I can't think of them right now, so here's a vague idea. Friends from the past are always good to meet again, since we all change over time. Many people who have passed away before I could meet them so my list gets changed pretty regularly.

Music:

Haha... it would take three or four screens worth to write it all down. But needless to say, my eclectic tastes have almost no bounds (except modern country...I despise it).

Connie Talbot

This little girl has literally the voice of an angel. Made me cry the first time I saw it. I promise it will blow your socks off.

Mute Math

I have seen these guys 3 times and every time they blow my mind. They could play the same music for the next 20 years and I would still go see them live and they would still be one of the best live bands EVER. Check out the Mute Math Spring 2007 tour website (linked below as the picture) for some more great footage. I was unfortunately not able to see any of those spring shows since I was out of the country for some of it and was not in the same cities as they were when I WAS in this country. :(

Benny Benassi

"Who's your daddy? Yes, I am!"
I enjoy dancing and this video makes me want to go to South Beach and dance 24/7.

Death Cab for Cutie - I Will Follow You into the Dark.

This is one of the most gut-wrenching loves songs I have ever heard. Hopefully one day I will find a woman to sing this to.

Movies:

Stigmata, Vanilla Sky, Millions, Much Ado About Nothing, Big Daddy, Romeo and Juliet, Tombstone, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Zoolander, A.I., Boondock Saints, Band of Brothers, Matrix, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Glory, Hamlet (with Kenneth Branagh), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, many more...

Jim Carrey

One of the comedic geniuses of all time and a brilliant actor.

Saturday Night Live

Probably the funniest sketch EVER on SNL. I still literally laugh out loud when I watch this.

John C. Reilley

Hilarious in Talladega Nights and hilarious in this ad for a favorite clothing companies of mine, XLarge.

Television:

Don't watch too much of this. Prefer to be out on the town making new friends or hanging with good 'ole friends... ..

Sitting in Bongo Java

Haven’t been able to say that phrase in years, and it is a pleasant, reminiscent thing to say.  But life has moved on, and I have moved on with life.  However, to come back to old stom...

So this weekend I was able to get out of Raleigh and go explore a city I had never been to before: Charleston, SC.  In high school, the College of Charleston had sent me TONS of material in an a...
