I've been in the SF music scene since the mid Eighties and have played with lots of local bands.Here are some of the people I've played with:Sebastian, Brittany Shane, Kitty Rose, Black Betty, David Hopkins, Matt Nathanson, Penelope Houston, Carrots & Peas, Lilyvolt, Orange, Love Nest, and Missile Harmony.For years I've tried to balance textural playing and more aggressive rock styles. I used to say that a blend of the Cocteau Twins and Led Zeppelin would be about perfect. That being said, I've mostly been into roots based music lately and have been playing lap steel more and more. I would say that I get the most pleasure out of playing live but I do a fair amount of recording sessions which are fun in their own way - especially if I am given free reign to do whatever I want : )I've been playing the same Tele since around 1985. I picked up a Jazzmaster a few years ago that's quickly become one of my favorite guitars.I currently have three lap steels: A 50s Magnatone, a 50s Supro with a string through pickup, and I'm about to receive an 8 string Lap King. The Supro is my current favorite but I'm looking forward to learning how to play an 8 string.I tend to prefer British voiced amps. My main amp right now is a Harris Built Alpha made by my friend John Harris. It's a 22 watt JTM45 that's cathode biased. It sounds fabulous. I also have a Dr. Z Carmen Ghia that's pretty cool and a 1962 Epiphone Pathfinder.Things I love: Lemons, chocolate, playing guitar, cats, movies, hot weather, fuzz pedals, brainy women, video night, hot salsa, burritos, aguas frescas, Indian food, smoothies.Things I hate: Cold weather, tomatoes, most nuts, people who think I play too loud, snotty people, wind, republicans.
