Greetings y'all, my name is Dave and I'm beyond sick and tired of living in Perth, Australia. It is the most isolated city in the world and I want to get out of here for a while. And when I say 'for a while' I mean forever. It's not that it's a bad place, I'm sure a lot of people would like it, it's just not the place for me. America is where I want to be, their colleges are the best in the world for what I'm doing and I want to complete my Master's degree there. Also, the NBA is where the party's at. Not to mention the theme parks, music scene and copious large cities all within close proximity to one another. Sure, a lot of the people there are filthy, but a some of them are okay. Besides, if I get to watch Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton work the perimeter once in a while, I think I can look past that. America is also in close proximity to Canada, which is where I want to settle after my Master's is complete. I'm finishing my honours degree in November this year and I want to leave straight after that which is why you should hook me up with some funds as soon as possible.The reason I needed to create this site is because full time honours is pretty intense and from now (January 2008) until November, I won't have the opportunity to make enough money due to the classes, research and just the general workload I'll have. This is a problem because Master's degrees in America start at around US$24,000 so I'm heavily relying on this site bring in some green. I mean, I could easily have chosen the life where I'd be breaking into your house right now to fund this trip, but I chose the other road. At least give me credit for that.I've done my research and this is the deal: it's going to cost AU$1831 to get the cheapest one-way ticket to Los Angeles departing on December 1, 2008 (which is a joke considering that it's $2100 for a return ticket). That's the goal. Honestly, if I get $1831, that will do me just fine. I'd need at least $25,000 to even think about starting my Master's and getting settled there I guess and I don't expect a website to pull in that amount. So I'm taking it one step at a time and assuming that the good Lord will provide should I make it. That's confidence.I could be a total greedy bastard here and want like $500,000 to get there, pay for my Master's degree tuition, purchase a house, car and season ticket to the closest NBA franchise and that kind of nonsense but I seriously just want to get there, that's all.I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get that $1831, I'll advertise this site into oblivion, whatever, it's not important, the only thing that's really important is stepping foot on American soil on December 2. I would be extremely appreciative if you could, even in the smallest way possible, make that happen for me. Maybe I've missed something like how I'm going to get a visa and you can give me some advice in that area?
